That crazy cat lady every neighbourhood seems to have, well that was my mom, so needless to say I grew up a cat person.
When I left home I took my own adopted kitties with me and never even considered the possibility of getting a dog β I love them (like all animals) but I was happy in Catland and didn’t see any reason to move from there.
Then one day, Blarney O’Budrick came into my life, he needed me and as it turns out I needed him more than I could ever imagine.
My (now 9 year old) beautiful golden forces me to play, to walk, to go to the park, to talk to my neighbours and best of all he makes me laugh every day, even on those days when I don’t have (or want) laughter he makes it happen.
This dog in many ways has saved my life, brought me joy and honestly nobody is as happy as he is when I get home and that is a lovely feeling…Thanks Boy!!

Aww he’s gorgeous!!! I used to be in a cat household, then I got my dog and my life changed for the better. I have a golden Labrador Amber, and she is the best purchase ever! I love her as much if not more than my children ha ha π

Thank you π
Hahahahahaha! Dogs are so easy to love and their love in return is so unconditional. I have cats too and I love them very much, but it’s different than a dog. I can’t imagine my life without a dog now.
I love the name Amber π Golden colour floppy eared dogs are the best!

I’m so glad you brought up the soft furry ear thing, because one of my best pleasures in life is stroking Anber’s ears! All my problems melt away-she’s my best friend. She’s the dumbest dog ever! But so waggy and loving. Her whole bum wiggles furiously when her tail wags lol! It’s nice to write about your pets…I might write a post on pet therapy soon πππ

I love stoking my dogs ears as well. So velvety π
Pets are incredible for helping ease stress, depression, anxiety…they are just amazing. So much better than kids! π

I agree. I have both so can judge. Kids double stress, dogs halve it!! lol π

I have a teenager and I can’t even begin to tell you about the kind of stress she causes. Thank goodness I have Budrick – that’s all I can say π

Haha! I have a nine year old that acts like a teenager, so dread to think what it’ll be like when her and her younger sister become one, YIKES! You have my deepest empathy and understanding lol π

Hahaha! Thank you! I feel fortunate to only have the one. You indeed have your hands full. Good thing we have our love of dogs to get us through π

That was such a beautiful post. I say the same thing about my 2 1/2 year old dog. We rescued him a few weeks after we lost our five year old dog to cancer. He saved my family and me from depression and we saved him from abuse and probably death. I have a painting in my bedroom that says “Who rescued who? I got it a few weeks after we rescued him. I love him to death. He’s my baby.

Thank you!
Animals are amazing. Rescuing animals is beautiful. We think we are saving them but really it’s often the opposite. π
